Father's Day weekend
Matt enjoyed his first Father's Day weekend with Oscar. They hung out Friday afternoon while I was working at the Textile Center. There was a gallery opening that night and they came to visit me and look at the cool art. Saturday we spent the day at home and we all had a yummy dinner that night... yes, including Oscar! He had his first rice cereal meal and it was a big hit! He seemed to catch on pretty quickly. We think he's going to be a good eater... just like his daddy.

showin' off
Oscar has been busy working on rolling over. He seems to have perfected the belly to back roll... but only wants to do it while in bed, and sometimes while asleep. Last week after his doctors appointment I spent 45 minutes trying to help him fall asleep. He kept rolling over and then would be mad that he was on his back. But of course as soon as I tried to get it on video he wouldn't complete the roll. Listen to the talking. When he gets tired and is fighting sleep that's what he does these days.
This is the wind-up... (note the cute smile behind the paci, he knows he's doing something cool... and the band-aids on those thighs, so sad.)Later that day (after the 4 hour nap - recovering from the shots) he decided to work on the back to belly roll. This one is very hard! I had to edit the video it was about 3mins long and he never got there... but also got very distracted by the butterfly. Don't you just want to help him!? He's so close!
Oscar has been making some really funny noises lately. I think he's trying to sing... but how does he know to look into the camera? I was sitting to the side but he keeps looking at the camera... already hammin' it up.

New Stats
Oscar had his 4 month appointment today. He did great. He wasn't too thrilled about the taste of the Tylenol or oral medicine, but handled the shots like a champ. He is now sleeping it off... and probably will be for the rest of the day.
Weight: 16lbs 4oz (75%)
Height: 24in (which was the same as his 2 month... so I question it's accuracy)
Head:16.25in (97%)

4 months!
Time flies when you're having fun! Oscar is now officially 4 months old. Every week there are more firsts and new tricks. I watched Oscar roll over from back to belly last Thursday evening! He worked and worked at it and finally got there and was very proud of himself. He has not done it again but I will be prepared with the camera next time. He has been practicing his verbal skills... waaaaaaaaaaaa, gaaaaaaa, gurrrr, and so on. He has grown enough to touch the floor of the excersaucer! We are going to the doctor this week and will be sure to update everyone on his current stats.
We took a trip to the Minnesota Zoo over the weekend and Oscar managed to stay awake for most of it. He was very interested in the aquarium.
I think Oscar's favorite moment this past week was his first taste of a delicious tangerine that Matt shared with him. He did his best to suck all the juice out of it, he just couldn't get enough!
